Beyond algorithm based AI concepts: consciousness and its generation on machines

Humanities

In his keynote address, Prof. Dr. Ralf Otte (Ulm University of Applied Sciences) argues for the generation of consciousness in machines from an engineering point of view. While this development will open up new possibilities for machine learning and its technical applications, it also highlights the fundamental differences of human consciousness that relies on bodily experience.
