Genetics can partially explain inequality in economic outcomes
Markus Jäntti from Stockholm University shows how genetic variations can be an important source of inequality in the economic outcomes. This evidence relies on complex models of family associations and economic inequality.
The policy implications of different views of the relationship between economic inequality and genes are also discussed. While doubt can be cast on the view that inequality is mostly genetic, the implications for policies to reduce inequality are widely misunderstood.
