Zurbriggen

Carmen Zurbriggen joined the University of Luxembourg as Associate Professor for Inclusive Education and Learning Difficulties in September 2020. Furthermore, she is an associate member of the Research Institute Social Cohesion at Bielefeld University (Germany). Her main areas of research encompass well-being and emotional experience of children and adolescents in difficult learning and development contexts, social participation in inclusive classrooms and beyond, social cohesion and disability as well as diagnostics and empirical research methods with a focus on inclusion.

After working as a research assistant at the University of Applied Sciences for Special Needs Education in Zurich, she completed her doctoral work at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland). In winter 2015/2016, she took over an interim professorship in Educational Science at Bielefeld University. She was subsequently interim head of the section Pédagogie curative clinique et éducation spécialisée at the University of Fribourg. From 2017 to 2020, she was a Professor in Educational Science at Bielefeld University.
