Richard

Catherine Richard is a Research Specialist at the Department of Geography and Spatial Planning. She collaborates with the H2020 project MIMY - EMpowerment through liquid Integration of Migrant Youth in vulnerable conditions. Catherine’s contribution to MIMY includes fieldwork and qualitative research activities in the MIMY’s case studies in Luxembourg.

Catherine comes from an interdisciplinary background, with a Master in Cinematographic and Audiovisual Studies at the Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris and a DIU in psychiatry and transcultural competences at Paris-Descartes University. She has been working for many years as a documentary filmmaker, before she began to collaborate on research projects at the University of Luxembourg.

She was previously employed at the Department of Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences where she worked in the Ministry funded PAN VAL project “ Active Ageing in Luxembourg”, carried out in collaboration with the GERO- Competence Center for Ageing.

Her research interests revolve around migration and more specifically psychosocial impact of migration, integration, inter-ethnic relations and participatory action research.
