Jeanne E
Glesener

I am a literary comparatist with particular interest in Luxembourgish multilingual literature, migration literature in Europe and small literatures in Europe. My research areas are literary historiography of small multilingual and/or intercultural literatures, comparative methodology and theory, world literature studies, multilingualism and interculturality. I am particularly interested in interrogating the universalist norms of general literary theory and applicability to small literatures. I enquire after a possible generic structural-typological model for a literary history of small literatures.

I teach courses in literary history, literary theory, gender constructions in literature, the historical novel, construction and symbolism of space in literature, and comparative literature.

Since 2014, I am Head of the Institute of Luxembourgish language and literature
