Sandra
Heck
Sandra Heck works at the Institute for Teaching and Learning, Department of Education and Social Work (DESW). She is involved in different European research projects and teaches in the primary school teacher education (BScE: Bachelor of Educational Sciences) as well as in the newly established certificate “Promotion of children’s physical activity”.
Sandra has earned her university diploma in sport science, geography and educational sciences from Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz and gained her PhD from the Faculty of Sport Science at the Ruhr-University Bochum in 2012. She is a state certified teacher of physical education and geography, has taught students and pupils at primary, secondary, vocational, and special schools. Before she started working in Luxembourg in 2019, she gave courses at University of Queensland in Brisbane, at University Claude Bernard in Lyon, at Justus-Liebig-University in Gießen, at University Koblenz-Landau and as a Professor of Sport Pedagogy and Didactics at Ludwigsburg University of Education.
From 2014 until 2021 she held the position of General Secretary of the International Society for the History of Physical Education and Sport (ISHPES). Currently, she is the National Delegate for Germany in the Fédération Internationale de l'Education Physique (FIEP-Europe), a Board Member of the European Physical Education Association (EUPEA) and an Executive Board Member of the International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE)
