MIMY: EMpowerment through liquid Integration of Migrant Youth in vulnerable conditions

MIMY (EMpowerment through liquid Integration of Migrant Youth in vulnerable conditions) is a H2020 project financed by the European Commission to investigate and support the integration processes of young migrants from non-EU-countries living in vulnerable conditions in 9 countries in Europe, including Luxembourg. The project started in February 2020 and will last three years (2020-2023). The University of Luxembourg is the lead partner and responsible for the Luxembourg case study within the project. Together with 12 European partners, the University of Luxembourg will analyse integration policies at the EU, national and local level.

In Luxembourg the project will include two case study areas in the north (canton Diekirch and Wiltz) and south (canton Esch) in order to investigate the various integration services and actors supporting the integration process of young migrants in vulnerable conditions in two different localities.

The objective of the project is to offer an insight into integration strategies addressing young migrants of third country origins, aged between 18 and 29. The project aims to examine long-term socio-economic effects of integration and identify the factors fostering or hindering integration processes.

Most importantly, MIMY will put the experiences of young migrants at the centre of its activities by directly involving them as peer researchers.
